Supply Chain

Supply Chain Analyst

The Supply Chain Analyst role is responsible for analytical support within our Distribution Center Network. This position requires the use of analytical decision making capabilities in a proactive and consistent manner, resulting in continuous improvement of customer service, inventory performance, productivity and throughput.

Distribution Center Supervisor

The Distribution Center Supervisor will provide leadership and general supervision to a specified functional area or process in a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift DC. The Supervisor would also be responsible for application of continuous improvement tools and framework to ensure optimization of resources and processes.

Forecast Analyst

The Forecast Analyst role is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of inventory forecasting for the Grainger Distribution Network servicing end customers and in network replenishments. This position has a direct impact on customer satisfaction by ensuring high levels of product availability through active forecast management.

Planning Analyst

The Planning Analyst role is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and management of Grainger’s inventory planning system, which applies our inventory strategies to the forecasts for our Distribution Center and/or Branch networks. This position has a direct impact on customer satisfaction by ensuring high levels of product availability.

Supplier Performance Analyst

The Supplier Performance Analyst is responsible for the replenishment of inventory for a specified group/profile of suppliers within our product offering. This position works closely with, and develops an intimate knowledge of, specified suppliers to ensure service levels are met and that product is available for sale as planned. This position has a direct impact on customer and supplier satisfaction.

Transportation Analyst

The Transportation Analyst is responsible for transportation decisions within assigned DC and replenished Branches. This position manages the inbound and outbound freight costs to budget through selection, negotiation and implementation of local and regional carriers.

Product Team Information Specialist

The Product Team Information Specialist is responsible for the coordination and management of product information for a designated product team. This role will support the catalog process, marketing strategy, as well as the collection, validation and certification of product information. This position has a direct impact on customer satisfaction through the maintenance and improvement of product information.

Product Management Specialist

The Product Management Specialist is responsible for the execution of Product Management activities, initiatives and projects aligned with product category strategies and overall business goals and objectives. This position assists in driving results in key areas of focus including, but not limited to, line review, discontinued inventory reduction, cost reduction (product and process), and supplier performance improvement. This position has a direct impact on both customer and supplier satisfaction.

 

Finance

Financial Development Program

In the Financial Development Program, participants can gain exposure to Grainger’s diverse North American businesses. This unique 2-3 year program allows individuals to develop skills in all or some of Grainger’s specialty areas including:

  • Financial planning and analysis
  • General accounting
  • International finance
  • Supply chain finance

It’s just one more way to enjoy a career environment that gives an individual the structure and support needed in the areas that interest them—along with flexibility to grow as a professional and as an individual.

The program is very individualized with 4-6 rotations that allow an individual to gain the knowledge and experiences that will benefit them the most. Throughout the program, Financial Development Program members receive direct feedback from a peer-mentor, their manager and the program director to help them along in their professional development. The Financial Development Program offers invaluable hands-on exposure to some of the most exciting financial challenges in the industry.

 

Sales

Territory Sales Representative

The Territory Sales Representative role is an entry-level sales position which focuses on selling to Grainger’s small and medium-size customers in an assigned territory which also includes prospecting for new business. The Territory Sales Representative will educate customers on the Grainger offer and purchase options; expand customer understanding and use of Grainger’s standard product and service capabilities; and build long-term productive and mutually beneficial relationships with new customers. All candidates must have an assertive high energy personality, strong time management and organizational skills along with excellent verbal communication skills. Preferred candidates will have an undergraduate degree and or 1-3 years prior sales experience.

 

Customer Service

Customer Service Associate

The Customer Service Associate role works through multiple service channels to consistently provide a high level of customer service, as defined in the Grainger Service Promise. A Customer Service Associate also navigates customers to solutions that help them get the job done as well as drives sales growth by engaging in actions that identify leads for further selling opportunities with every customer.

Customer Service - Data Analyst

The Data Analyst role will design, implement and evaluate basic system reports and other information solutions that support enterprise wide operations and key metrics. Responsibilities for the Data Analyst include: Strong information analysis and problem solving ability; basic statistical analysis training; communications that are grammatically correct and error-free; ability to actively listen and must provide high attention to detail and strong organization skills.

Customer Service - Documentation Analyst

The Documentation Analyst role designs, develops and maintains process and system documentation ensuring accuracy in the upstream and downstream processes. A Documentation Analyst also:

  • Understands business processes and system issues to create documentation.
  • Understands upstream and downstream effects in order to ensure accuracy and implications of not performing the process correctly.
  • Authors and maintains process documentation in accordance with standards.
Customer Service - Web Designer Developer

The Web Designer Developer role improves the effectiveness of the department through the coordination and implementation of projects utilizing web-based technologies. A Web Designer Developer also has the overall responsibility for the analysis, design, and development of web based applications and communication tools. As the business leverages web-based systems and the Intranet, the Web Designer/Developer plays a key role in process improvement and plays a major role in driving cost out of the business while increasing overall productivity.

 

Enterprise Processes and Systems

Business Systems Analyst I

The Business Systems Analyst role is responsible for leading research and analysis efforts to identify, define and document business and technical requirements so that they can be translated into effective systems design. A Business Systems Analyst will define deliverables so that projects will meet the business partners’ requirements and development standards. They will do so utilizing business and systems expertise to identify new and/or improved business processes, and evaluates them for adoption into the FindMRO environment.

Database Administrator

The Database Analyst (DBA) role designs, implements, tunes, supports, documents, and maintains databases with respect to scripts/JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, referential integrity, data organization, protection, security, and documentation according to database standards and procedures. The DBA also provides production monitoring and support for designated databases deployed throughout the company. The DBA must also provide database consulting/guidance services to other Grainger business areas.

E-Svcs Specialist

The E-Svcs Specialist role is responsible for providing specialized services to their department and business partners to ensure an effective and efficient operating environment. Working with various other departments within the organization, the Specialist provides operational consulting services utilizing their specific expertise. The Specialist supports the ongoing daily operations of specific services utilizing various automated and manual processes.

Network Engineer I

The Network Engineer role is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting the data communication infrastructure used to support Grainger’s business objectives. This position will ensure maximum availability, reliability, and performance of related infrastructure, systems and network-related applications.

PC Support Analyst

The PC Support Analyst role provides efficient and effective design, testing and support of desktop hardware, software, and peripherals directly interfacing with end-users. A PC Support Analyst will perform image design and build, testing of image, testing of software application packages, problem determination and/or resolution for the core business environment and escalate problems to higher levels if necessary. A PC Support Analyst must be able to provide accurate documentation of reported problems and resolutions.

SAP Security Analyst I

The SAP Security Analyst role is responsible for documenting, testing, challenging, and implementing security policies and troubleshooting SAP security problems/failures. A SAP Security Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing measures to safeguard Information Assets against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.

SSC Support Coordinator

The System Support Center Coordinator role is responsible for accepting a wide range of Service Calls which must be diagnosed, classified and resolved while providing excellent customer service to the End User. These efforts include discovering, probing, researching and resolving issues that have the potential to be complex and business impacting.
